if there is one thing that i must tell you
it is that words are proof of our intelligence
so please don’t neglect them.
don’t let me stand here
on a stage in front of hundreds
just to, like, y’know,
forget what i was gonna talk about because
here on a stage i represent a generation victimized by
subjugation:
so careless,
so foolish,
call us what you will but
revolution is based on violence, rebellion,
and blessed education let’s
look back to the american revolution, 1700’s,
back before africans came as slaves
before immigration made us into
who we are today and
let’s learn from their violent ways and
let’s bark and bite and have our revolution
yes let’s START A REVOLUTION
keep up with tradition and
make history repeat and let’s, like,
NOT make ourselves look stupid while we’re at it,
standing up with pitchforks and forgettin’ our lines like
“YEAH, man, start a restolution!”
some days i get the feeling
the world doesn’t see us because
we wear our spongebob and dora backbacks at
sixteen seventeen eighteen years
and the older folks know
that grown-ups don’t watch cartoons.
if we want a revolution we know where to find it
it’s in the news and on the tube
and all over the movie screens see
if we wanna be heard we gotta point our fingers at the big dogs and let’s not say
“this shit ain’t yours no more” but
“this is our territory,” let’s
beat them at their own game let’s
quote the Bible quote the Constitution let’s
whoop their asses with words,
start a revolution, not a fucking restolution like
YEAH, man, start a REVOLUTION!
Please tell me what you think

Accept my comment on "Poetry is a Graveyard"
That poem was sharp and stunning!
You were right… Not all are poets and not all poems carry fragrance of flowers and not all poems bring life of loss….
But saddest thoughts are what made into sweetest poems once…
Not all opinions are same and not all of us are poets…
I like that one very much….
Love

I enjoyed and agreed with your poem.
I liked your conversational tone and urgent voice. Your grammar represents the ignorance that you resent.
I immediately connected with the ideals that your poem bespeaks. A fine poem. The societal angst that your poem makes evident is quite violent, but in a way that you obviously deemed necessary. The poem fits nicely with its content and is clearly one that could actually bring about social change on a scale large or small. The poem brings about a feeling of the civil rights movement or suffrage. Unfortunately, I do not see the changes you desire to be made, thus giving this poem a feeling of blind rage perhaps. A good poem, all in all. -Andrew Dornon
