Her Legacy
Her childhood dream was to be a star
to play rock-and-roll, to rock, scream and shout.
She spent years learning how to play guitar
Most of all, she knew what music's about
She was good, maybe one could say 'the best'
Lead singer in a little garage band
her father said she had talent; was blessed
She ruined her story with her own hand
~*~*~*~*~
At sixteen years old, she fell deep in love
With a boy her father disapproved of
So rebellious; a wild rocker girl
It was just some fun, a little whirl
A month later, she's pregnant with his kid
(Don't say you didn't see this, God forbid)
She's less than happy, but she lets him know
He laughs in her face, calls her 'stupid ho'
She tells her parents; they're not too happy
and more so when she says there's no pappy.
Abortion, adoption, what can she do?
She just knows her dream will never come true
~*~*~*~*~
Over the years, the dream slowly went dead
She had her daughter, husband – not enough
She was all right – what she always said
A woman, a fighter, a rocker; tough
While cleaning the attic not long ago,
She and her daughter found her old guitar
She couldn't look at it, it hurt her so
She wanted to break it; to throw it far
~*~*~*~*~
That old guitar rests in her daughter's hands
Her daughter's on stage, in the crowd she stands
Watching the results of her legacy
And realizing it's not such a bad thing
Please tell me what you think

Very nice write. I just have one question Zach. WHY ARE YOU IGNORING ME AT AP? I THOUGHT... I don't know what I was thinking. Just, why didn't you give me an explaination? You really hurt me Zach!
Maybe you don't care but I think I do deserve an explaination for the way you treated me!
