Long Necks

A chiseled frown seeks friendship
Down at the bottom of a bottle
Through its consumed fuel
A long cracked neck,
The vessel penetrates a dry hoarse throat
Thirsty for the hammering liquid
As it pulsates the mind, then numbs the brain

He hammered the drink and waited
For the occasion of truth to come out
Through the long narrowed tunnel
Where he could cock his eye
Up close
Like a magnifying glass
Would amplify and reflect back his reality
Or a target’s cross, pinning the truth
For which he would bend his knees

Long necks stretched, dry flat
Bitter staple seed
Planted down the stubborn red neck
Brewer mate, lost and found
At the table, dried up now
No crown royal
Raspy hops, the whisky breed

Author notes

This is basically about a redneck beer drinking drunk. I think it is pretty obvious, though.

    Descriptive and emotive

It reminded me of Ernest Hemingway on a binge.
"Beer is a brawler, and wine is a mocker" Proverbs.

Very descriptive, good use of images and emotional content.
