Missing image

 "Girls are so stupid

I'm not playing this any more"

"Well, I'm not playing war.

Boys games are such a bore!

"Good! I'm sick of this

I'm going to watch TV!"

"Well, don't think you'll be doing that

without me! It's the Muppet Show -

I think Miss Piggy's best!"

"Na-aww - Kermit's coolest!

Piggy's just a pest!"

"Haaii - yahh!! Take that!!

You stupid, pesky boy!!

Go find somebody else you can annoy!"

"Aww, let's not fight..

Miss Piggy's cool, I guess.

And Kermy likes her more than he'd confess.."

"Hey, how come Kermy hasn't any clothes?"

"Dunno. Just frogs don't wear them, I suppose."

"Miss Piggy does. And she's got jewellery!!

...Hey. You still sure you want to watch TV?

My Mum and Dad are out...let's go and play

upstairs..in their room..it'll be okay.

You can be the frog, I'll be the girl.

I'll put on Mummy's lipstick and her pearls,"

"Okay, I'll come ... but just don't you suppose

coz I'm the frog I'm taking off my clothes

again"

    You Should Be Kermitted, W!

    Sorry. Couldn t resist.
Yepp Doctors and nurses, gender role-playing, all part of growing up though personally I think I missed out on certain of these aspects - I believe I was more hand-puppet than muppet.
    You hear that, John?
Must be Frank Oz revolving in his grave.
    Nice one.
    Cheers

      Inverted Freudianism

Hey gG, I'm so glad you got a laugh out of this as I certainly did myself. Also delighted you picked up on the Freudian angle, though I'm not sure at this stage if I intended IT or IT intended .... shheeeesh!!
What I DID intend was to say adults can be very childish sometimes by saying children can be very grown up - especially when it comes to sex..at least that's what I think I meant. Dr. Freud, no doubt, would have other ideas. Frank Oz, I'm certain, would have absoulutely approved, having spent long hours with his hand up a pig's dress! What kind of puppeteering YOU prefer, is a matter for your own conccience, my friend! Oooh, this HAS been fun. Roll the titles, play the music, let's see Rolff hammer those ivories and the two old geezers throw vegetables from the balcony!
As always, it's been fun doing some poetry (and nostalgia with you my old Scandal-knavian! A custard pie in your moosh! >W<

    < I wonder sometimes...

Hey Cal. Spare yourself any blushes about your blushes, I had a most uneventful youth in this respect myself, (like most people) and the poem is more about childishness than childhood. I'm sure you've more than caught up with things and earned all your 'rites of passage' since achieving the dubious status of adulthood!
I have to say that whilst I'm always delighted to see your handle on a comment, I wonder if their anecdotal quality doesn't shield me from your more discerning instincts. I suppose one shouldn't 'draw the lightning' but one can't help but wonder. Whatever, thanks as always for stopping by. Keep doing so please. >W<

    Quite good

Freudian in element. The sexual instinct in kids is unconsciously inherent. There is always a desire to eat forbidden fruit.

      On the money

Hi Leo and thanks for stopping by here. Your recognition of a certain Freudian intent here is very much on the money, though it's kind of inverted Freudianism inasmuch as it tries to look at sexual behaviours being childish rather than childish behaviours being sexual. Or is it the other way round? Oh, dear! I think I'll have to ask my shrink. Just kidding. Your comment was right on the money and I thank you for it. >W<

  • hehehehehehehehe

Oh >W< you said it perfectly lol....And well I have to be bold to admit to playing such games like that when younger...lol

This had a most brilliant tight ryhtym to it..and all the rhyming fit so very well..I loved most, it simply made me smile and have a giggle lol

Great work my friend, great work

Knew you'd like the naughtiness in this one

Well, Cinful One, there's an old, old Spanish saying that it took me years to fully understand. It says 'Tell a lie and find a truth'. However I think I've always known you were a very naughty girl and that's probably why I like you so much!
Blazingleo (above) very astutely noticed the 'freudian' intent in this one and hopefully people will recognize that it's about how childish (and naughty)lovers behaviours can be. I thought you might like it. Thanks for stopping by. Smiles and hugs >W<
