Windows is Shutting Down

Missing image
'Windows is Shutting Down'
I noticed it for some reason
It spoke to me

I lost a friend here today.

Virtuality shouldn't touch
but it does
and windows is shutting down
like part of me

the laptop lid
like a coffin
a feeling like I should put it
in the ground
before bed

say a few words maybe

The eyes are windows
to the soul
and windows is shutting down

Copy and paste me an epitaph.

I'll miss you.

I already do.

Windows is shutting down.

    End of an Aperture.

A window closes and you open one inwards to enable your quill to write a wrong, W.
All the more poignant as I am afforded brevity of a certain insight. All the more impressive as your words meld with the melancholy this event conceives.
    Highest regards

pretty tight, we've all seen windows shutting down but you had the werewithal to notice it and make a poem out of it. i too have felt a sense of loss albeit not a big one but there. best line...the eyes are windows to the soul...cyber meets reality.

      Sentimental

Hey Professor, thanks for the feedback. I would have thought this one might be a bit flowery for you, especially the line you picked out. But it's written pretty much as it 'happened' like most of my stuff. Always glad to hear from you (I must be getting sentimental in my old age!) >W<
