Unveiled

Raw emotion spilling tears
Collecting in others’ view
Increasingly falling from eyes
Multiplying exponentially
Disjointed thought and feeling
Confusion, grief, misery
Trickling on the floor
Heavy, private emotion
Is inside no more
It lies barely breathing
Put half-dead on display
Inside has changed
Heart’s coating peeled
Pretending has failed
Feelings are unveiled

  • the way with which the emotion rapidly unravels is very heavy, especially emphasised by the loose structure through. a sense of a person's self spiralling out of control is very much evident, and by the end of the poem it feels as if all of their strength has left them- "pretending has failed, feelings are unveiled"

    fantastic

Indeed I think high of this poem for the very reason that despite your rather positive ways of looking at life (your bio, you succeeded writing such a dark and sorrowful poem, which is quite difficult to do. "Inside has changed.." - I hope (well I am sure) that your inside didn't change! Thanks. Ulla
