Flooding Memories

I see her now wallowing,
in her own pity and regrets.
A memeory she wants to forget.
The name is stuck in her head.
She blankly stares at the desk.
A funny note is what she writes to me now,
trying to shake the thought of what,
he just said moments before.
He blurted it out.
It brought it back.
Flooding her brain.
She slapped him hard.
He was shocked, he didn't realize,
what he had done.
They didn't speak for quite a while.
She pretended to get over it.
I'm sure she'll think about it before,
she closes her eyes tonight.
I want to tell her that it isn't her fault,
she was young and pressured.
I hope she doesn't think about it,
too much.

This really did take some reading to get the flow and to work out what you were saying. But I eventually got there and think that it is excellent It has been many years since I waas in a situation anywhere near that, but I was not able to sum it up in words as you have.

this is lovely- well, not lovely, but moving

we've all been there- i love the line "i'm sure she'll think about it before she closes her eyes tonight" (although it doesn't need that comma)

the idea of staying quiet but being tormented by thoughts of passed relationships/ regrets is pretty much universal, but you've presented it very personally here

    very moving
