Hurricane

As the thunders and rains ride in from the sea
We are left to part from what could be
A home, a new life for young and old
Yet the drive to survive has again fallen to the mold
Nearly three years to the day, but not one has past
That we cannot see clearly through this shadows cast
Once again we are stricken by the devious wrath
That nature has set forth on her riotous path
But we look forth ahead, not back on the land
Which was once itself an ocean, and a few grains of sand.
