Illusion!?

Life is such an illusionary thing.
I often wonder about the things I dream.
Are they deep hidden secrets,
or things I have seen?
Will I ever know what they all mean?
Or will they remain just as they seem,
faraway, distant, out of control.
Every second, minute, hour of the day,
I wonder if they relate to life in some way.
Every day, week, month of the year,
I feel the time is drawing near.
The coming of Christ is almost here.
So what is the point of writing this down?
I know not how to share the truths I have found.
Light, texture, taste, sound,
you can't measure them in ounces or pounds.
Yet you know they are facts because they're all around.
Christ's love and joyous giving,
is all around us in the lives we're living.
Yet people resist Christ's cleansing of soul.
They hold on to their sins they wish not to let go.
They deny it and hide it from family and friends,
then pray for forgiveness when judgment begins.
Some are forgiven their prayers are sincere,
others are not, they remain here,
committing their sins many times through the years.
I pray I'm sincere when the coming is here.
Though I know not always what to believe,
I trust the Lord Christ, to whom I pray,
to relieve my tormented soul on resurrection day.
Praise the Lord Jesus Christ.
It is to Him I owe my life.

starts off very exestential, the kind of thing it usually takes a few puffs of a funny cigarette to think up but, given the religious aspects of the later lines i'm sure that's not the case.
very powerful, words like "judgement", "sins" and "cleansing of soul" leap off the page.

i like especially the idea that you can't measure our experiences in "ounces or pounds"- our time here is not quantifiable

    very interesting

      Well, to be honest...

even people who smoke can be religious. I'm glad you found it interesting. You're right that our time here isn't quantifiable. Man that's a big word for a guy like me. Sorry I didn't respond to this one sooner. I thought I had.
