You don't have to tell me that you love me

You don't have to hold me your arms

No, you don't have to kiss me, O' so softly

No, you don't have to tell me that you love me

You don't ev!en have to tell me that you care

You don't have to put on any makeup

You don't have to curl of fix your hair

No, you don't have to tell me that you love

You don't have to hold me or console me.

But if you ever need me, I'll be there

I'll be there as a friend or as a lover

just to sit beside you or cuddle under covers

I'll keep my distance if you'd like

but I'd rather hold you tight

When I kiss you O' so softly, please remember

I'll be there because you're special

and because I care!
