Explaining to the Impassive Universe that I am an Animal; and Asking What IT is.

I can clench my fist so my fingernails cut me,
I can bite so my teeth get all chipped.
I can say these words to no one at all,
I
can cease
to exist.

I can exhale so forcibly my head starts to spin,
I can run and run until I collapse.
I can mimic and mock,
put these thoughts into stock,
hide them inside a synapse.

I'll be the only one to tell you the truth...
we domesticated ourselves.
We built our own cages
out of power lines and road signs.
I watch from behind this window...
Inside?
Inside the dead trees and concrete,
melted glass and plastic casts.
Encased in drywall.

But I can say these things, even in my head.
I can make these silent sounds, to myself.
I hear them, I hear THESE WORDS.
Letters.

Pce tgthr ll thngs ncmplt, fx ll tht s brkn.
Even if it is not really there.
I am human, the high primate.
Our sticks and stones are machetes and machine guns.

I'm yelling.
Screaming at you, acknowledge me!
Save us!

These words mean nothing.

Soon we will be gone.
All of us.
You know this.
Please...
remember us...

You can't.

    Skirting The Insanity Equation!

Certain deep musings are primed as triggers to shoot madness into our minds, as I´m sure you agree, Mr B.
Contemplation of such can provide an effective pasture for creativity to graze, whereby one may glean sultry condiments of rich ideas and twisted concepts.
The flipside is going insane of course but then, nothing ventured, nothing gained.
In fact I believe there to be far too much mental health in usual poetry - give me an indelible nutter any day!
Not saying you are crazed, Mr B. (or if I am I mean in the nicest possible way) but a Thinker and Contemplator of the Wierd, you most assuredly are.
One advantage with madness is that it frees us from constraints of those "cages we built", it can set our minds free and freedom always comes with a price.
A mechanical universe of callous disregard may consider "THESE WORDS" (shorter title?) to be useless but then I say: fuck the universe! What the hell does IT know?
From one ephemeral poet to another.

    Cheers
