I Need Inspiration

I need inspiration
something oh so fine.
A thought sent down from Heaven
that would be devine.

I need inspiration
something to make you think.
A thought to melt your mind
because it is so deep.

I need inspiration
something to touch your heart.
The thought of love so amazing
it'd win you over from the start.

I need inspiration
something to make you cry.
A thought so devastating
it would make you want to die.

I found no inspiration
Do you wonder why?
I spent too much time looking
so now I'll sit and sigh.

How much time should you spend waiting for insperation? [Reward: double points]

    None at All.

I don't wait for inspiration, because it's all around me. Even if my inspiration will be the cause of the worst poem in recorded history, at least I'll have written. I find that once you break the dam, a flow of inspiration will come. Not to say that I haven't liked what my inspiration was. I get really jealous of all these people who write heart-breaking beautiful poetry, but I'll keep writing, and that's just what I do. Great poem.

Then we have something in common.

That was the point of this poem. I wrote it after hearing more than one poet say they were waiting for inspiration. I love your statement: Even if my inspiration will be the cause of the worst poem in recorded history, at least I'll have written. That sums up the way I feel about it. I wrote a poem called WHY? about a spider on the wall, just because I could. I'll write a poem about any notion that pops into this vacant head of mine. I'm proud of every stinky little poem I've ever written. As you stated in your next sentence I find that writing, at least for me, inspires writing. You're jealous? All I can say to that is just do what you do which is simply write those heart-breaking beautiful poems. Keep up the great work. Thank you for not only reading my poetry but for also leaving such meaningful comments. I appreciate it.

You have been wanting for an inspiration but it feels like you have been lot more than inspired...yet moving towards the concluding lines gives me a gloomy note and I wonder why would you want anyone to cry and that which would make anyone want to die..puzzling thematically yet sounds good poetically..

      Hey Divine,

I don't really want to make anyone cry or wish to die. I was speaking figuritively. Just to be able to provoke the strongest emotions possible type of things. Besides poetically it sounded good.
