Archemantis Latistyla

Missing image

he watched her for days
filled his senses with her
fantasized her fierce embrace

her elegance hypnotized him
the terrible beauty of her
laid him waste
drew him

she felt his eyes
and her own
power

revelling in it
she danced for him

she loved to dance
she loved her grace
she loved the moment

she longed for his embrace

he saw she loved him
and he came to her

'if you love me I must kill you
she said
for it is my nature
stay away from my bed '
(though she hungered for him )

we are two of a kind you and I
he replied
I love you
I was made for you
let me come to you, my Sweet
take me in your arms
love me

pray for me

then  eat

(Archemantis Latistyla = Preying Mantis)

Does the picture here, or anything else about the poem, 'give the game away' too soon ?

    hey W

no the picture didn't give it away to soon, in fact i think you could name the poem Praying Mantis. the only change i'd make is the parenthesis, by saying she longed for him too, it takes away some of the sting, i always think of her as the seducer and destroyer.

"love me pray for me then eat",that sums it up for me,very wily and easy to read poem,of course it has nothing to do with women at all ha! ha!

How often have you nearly been munched I wonder(all that remains of me is about three brain cells and a hand, everything else has been devoured)

    nice work,really enjoyed reading it

Eaten up, spat out, left for dead - but still here and I still 'do lunch sometimes! Thanks for the comment. >W<
