  • The station wagon slowed as the turn off came in view and turned. The 35 ton of loaded semi had no hope of stopping and young Maurice was left an orphan. Mum, Dad, and sister were taken back to the city for the funeral. Such a sad occasion, one small seven year old, left alone when he needed love and guidance most.

  • Today is Christmas Day 2009 and it's raining. It has been for most of the day, gentle soft rain falling straight down. A gift from above. Why am I so thrilled about it? It's water and we collect it from our roof for drinking because the underground water has a very high calcium content and it tastes terrible.

    Very good. Written as if you were speaking to me personally. I notice that the speed fo the poem varies with the tone of its content at that point. I like that. You have also used plain language from start to finish, I like that too. To sum up, an excellent poem.

    We all do it, cast a bottle into the ocean. Not actually, but in our lives we make choices based on faith, mostly they work out in the end. A very enjoyable read, thank you.
